Born in California, USA Anthony technically started his artistic career while working on his master of fine art at the Academy of Art University in San Francisco where he got his first introduction to photography. This has lead to the evolution of his individualstic style. There is a rich, cinematic and painterly quality to Anthony´s photography which not only drew the attention of the advertising industry but has also been honored with some of the world's top photography awards.
Anthony specializes in environmental portraiture and strives to create beautiful and unexpected photographs of people and the spaces they occupy. Anthony seamlessly moves from documentary to conceptual, capturing the world as it presents itself as well as creating new worlds entirely.
He has worked as a professional for advertising and editorial work since 2009 with clients such as The Guardian, PDN, Red Bull, Wall Street Journal, Entertainment Weekly, Communication Arts, Travel + Leisure, Conde Nast Traveler, Las Vegas City etc
Anthony Kurtz has won numerous international and national awards, including multiple First and Second Prizes at the International Photo Awards (IPA), Photo District News (PDN), American Photographic Artists (APA), Communication Art's Photo Annual (CA) and the Prix de la Photographie de Paris (PX3).
A number of galleries in the United States and Europe have displayed his work, including the De Young Museum in San Francisco, Hous Projects at the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, and Galerie Acte 2 in Paris.
